Can anyone think of a way to convert temporary hit points to standard hitpoints - even if only single standard hit point is created?

I'm playing with the concept of a Minotaur BattleRager that keeps fighting way past the point of death (i.e. not just a revenant), I but can't think of a way to make it work.

Minotaur Racial Trait
Ferocity: If you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can make a melee basic attack before falling unconscious.

Feat
Brutal Ferocity (when reduced to <=0 hit points, use an at-will attack power in place of the usual melee basic attack).

Power
Crushing Surge (invigorating at will)

As I understand it, whilst (assuming the surge hits) the user would suddenly have temporary hit points, they would still be at <=0 normal hit points so would fall unconcious and enter the dying condition...?

Any other options that would work to creaet a melee machine that keeps on going as long as it keeps hitting?

Look at Barbarian and it's paragon path. They get the "fight past 0" powers you're looking for.

There's no way to create something that you're looking for. Any at-will attack power than grants hit points at all will just grant temporary hit points. Hell, even a Lifedrinker weapon only gives you temporary hit points.

You're best bet for a similar concept is to MC as Barbarian and take a Barbarian PP.

Or redo the character as (technically) a Revenant minotaur, skinned as living (and with the feat that means you're no longer considered undead).

Or just talk to your DM about maybe letting you pick up that feature of the Revenant race using a "Multiclass" feat, and opening up the subsequent feats which improve it. Compare to picking up the Artful Dodger bonus via multiclassing, as compared with the highly comparable halfling racial feature.

I don't think you can set it up to work all the time, but I imagine you can invest in various powers and items that might let you get some healing when you hit an enemy.

Bard's Stirring Shout is the biggest that immediately comes to mind - whether applied by you or an ally, it gets the job done for an encounter, against one enemy. As long as you can keep hitting, you won't go down.

Other thoughts: A reach weapon is probably key for this build, to ensure you are always in range to swing.
