Disappointing, but completely understandable.

Yes! In the same way that part of the attraction of Tsojcanth was the new monsters and items, rather than just the caverns themselves, I see these modules as intriguing for a number of reasons. By that point we will be dying to see some of the big bad guys in stat form.
 


There really isn't any 3e or 4e specific monsters. Nothic just?

I didn't notice that, good catch. Overall I think the monster choices they made are very good. This is a much better collection of monsters then 3e or 4e had for their first Monster Manual. Or, what 2e had with their original Monsterous Compendium for that matter.
 





Daaaaaang. 33 pages of dragons (35 if you count shadow dragons). Looks like each color gets one page for the wyrmling and young versions, one for the adult, and one for the ancient, plus a few extra pages for general dragon stuff. The 3.5E Monster Manual only had 21 pages of dragons, and the 4E Monster Manual had a paltry 12.

This is gonna be a good edition. :)
