So I was thinking of running an 80s/90s modern pulp type game and i'm trying to think of which heroes from movies I want to include.

I'll be statting the top 4 or 5 out later for use in my campaign, but I wanted some help as to WHICH 4 or 5 would make the cut.

Please vote for who you think should make the team, or feel free to post an additional choice if I missed someone HUGELY important.

You can't go wrong with John McClane, BA and Riggs... Mix them up together and hilarity will ensue... For good measure add Ash too.
Also not on the list, but still worthy to consider

Jack Burton -It's all in the reflexes
RoboCop- Dead or alive, you're coming with me
Thomas Sullivan Magnum IV
Murdoch from the A-Team, in fact why not the whole A-Team?

Hmmm... that's all that comes to my mind for now

So are these going to be older versions of Bond and Indie?

Some other ideas:

Buckaroo Bonzai
Remo Williams
Marty, Doc, and the Delorean time machine
the character who makes Max Headroom (can't remember name)
characters from the SG-1 show (I don't watch it, so can't name any)
Dirty Harry (a bit more seventies, but there were a couple of 80s movies)

A few notables missing...

Snake Plissken
Mad Max
Lone Wolf McQuade
Dalton (aka "the cooler" Patrick Swayzee)
The nameless character played by Rowdy Roddy Piper in "They Live"
Hicks, Hudson, Vasques, Drake & Apone
& Chappy Sinclair providing air support!

FWIW I'd probably remove Bond from the list as he'll always be a more of a 1950's-60's iconic figure.

The ending of "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" had both Indiana and his father drink from the Grail. You could explain that the Grail's grace has allowed him to age much more slowly, and that though he's now in his 90s, he only looks like he's in his 60s.

As for James Bond, I'm going with the popular theory that Bond isn't a man, but a pseudonym given to the best current MI6 agent, working as an "agent provocateur" in plain view, rather then under cover.

If we're adding characters, then I'll recommend Fox Mulder, who's an expert detective in the Sherlock Holmes range, his obsession with the supernatural put aside..

Well, this is probably pushing the envelope--since this character is technically from the '70's--but I've been watching Jim Rockford [Rockford Files] on "the Superstation" at 2AM and enjoying my insomnia. He's certainly got charisma...especially with the ladies! [Too bad he's got so much trouble with money..!] Nothing stopping old Jimmie Boy (and maybe even his dad, Rocky) from putting down his fishing pole for a few laughs with some 80's/90's friends!

They probably wouldn't make the cut but you could call in Doctor Ray Stantz and Doctor Egon Spengler as consultants for your modern day League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. If they can take time away from being ghostbusters of course.

I like the ideas, keep them coming.

One thing to note is I'm looking for straight modern characters, and not post-apoc, future, or sci-fi stuff. :) Looks like bond is dead. I'll debate replacing him with someone else.

PS - I'm really surprised how bad Riggs is doing. I hope everyone remembers him from the Lethal Weapon series (Mel Gibson's character).

I just realized there are no females on this list.

Lara Croft would fit right in AND give Indy a run for his money.
Is Buffy the Vampire Slayer out of period? I don't know if that show started before 2000 or not.
Witchblade? IIRC there was a short lived tv series made.
I never saw La Femme Nikita but I heard it was good.
This might be pushing it but how about the Bionic Woman? By the 90's she could be a full-body cyborg and worth about 6 billion. :)
