[Modern/CoC] Under The Closet [RECRUITING]

kuroshidaku

First Post
I'm looking for people interested in running a CoC style game using D20 Modern classes. CoC will be more used as a setting than rules, but sanity will still be in place.

If this doesn't appeal to you I can run a straight CoC game, but I'm thinking of a setting with people above the ordinary.

Posting will be around 1/day, 4-5 players.

The setting

You are in the world as we know it. People get up, people go to work, people get back home to their families. They are ignorant.

Reality is much different. Monsters lurk everywhere. Few can see them, but they are there. Some who have seen them worship them as the gods they know them to be. Others run.

You have recently arrived in the City, a place of contrast. Skyscrapers reach to the heavens just as the sewers reach for the hells. The city has many skeletons in its closet, you must reach beneath them to uncover the truth, and pray that you survive the process.

Setting is modern-day, high-powered (28 point-buy as DMG). The city is a standard one, large, but not giant.

If interested, please say so and post a concept. I'll decide char creation later. I'm happy to make changes if you want something different.

Kuro.

Hmmm... I don't have the d20 modern book, but the SRD should suffice, no?

I'm fine with using d20 modern. :)

Here's my concept:

Donald Q. Blair

Don Blair was a hard working farmboy from an isolated farm in Georgia before he joined the Army at age 18. He served 6 years as a supply clerk and was discharged in **** (one year before campaign starts). While he was in the Army, his farm was foreclosed upon, and Don found his parents living in a shack outside Atlanta. Don has spent the last year looking for odd jobs to help support his parents and younger sister, and has become the accounts recievable clerk for a local shop in Atlanta.

I might be interested, as I haven't yet gotten any use out of my CoCd20 or d20M books. :)

Can you give some idea what kind of game you're thinking of, beyond just CoC with above-average protagonists? Are we talking modern like today modern, or modern like 1920 modern? Where would the game be set?

Could you give some kind of game pitch? Analogous to a movie trailer or something like that?

Righty-o, here we go:

Setting is modern-day, high-powered (28 point-buy as DMG). The city is a standard one, large, but not giant. Probably American, cause I don't know of anywhere else you can run around with a gun and no-one takes notice.

SRD is fine for play :)

Any probs, please tell. Gonna be my frist PbP GM, as you may notice. :D

This game is still alive if I can get some players. Samnell, Saberon, you guys still there?

Only the Modern SRD is required, the only CoC rule i'm using is sanity, and that's easy to explain.

Interesting observation...where are you from, BTW?

Brisbane, Australia.

Note i'm not saying this from experience, just what you see in movies, news, etc. I do realise that this isn't the case in the real world, but the image sticks.

Note that there have been no school-yard massacres in Australia because of the stringent gun regulations. People just don't have them.
