This thread contains a compilation of the Monster Manual 2025 stat blocks which have been previewed publicly so far.
Yeah, the intent is obviously that you can't kill them without their Anathema. So you could trap one, but they are going to be REAL mad about it.One result is intended, the other one is dissatisfying . I’d go for the first.
Did we need a statblock for this?View attachment 394123

Depends who “we” is. Do you and I need a stat block for this? Probably not. Does the first-time DM running a game for their friends in their after-school club or whatever need a stat block for this? I certainly think they would benefit from it.Did we need a statblock for this?
I don't mean "do we need performer NPCs in D&D?" Of course we do.
But do we need a statblock for them?
Maybe. It would be more economical to have a "commoner" statblock and then a little chart with professions and the skills those folks likely have.Does the first-time DM running a game for their friends during in their after-school club or whatever need a stat block for this? I certainly think they would benefit from it.
There maybe a mage performer who does the enchantments to bolster the performance. Also, those performers are obviously doing a cool magically enhanced performance. Given the art, if there had to be a statblock, they couldn't give them a minor illusion type action/cantrip/whatever?
Probably the violinist, who is an elf. There maybe a mage performer who does the enchantments to bolster the performance.
