D&D 5E Monster Manual soon to be in the wild!

Notice the boxes have a release date of 9/16 and not 9/30 as originally announced.

It's a pretty damn good PR idea to aim for a later date and release early, instead of the other way around. Could you imagine how badly the internet fans would react to a late book release? They'd be calling for heads to roll and how bad 5th edition has fell from prior editions.

Giving Mearls, who appears to be just a stand-up guy with his head on straight, the reins to D&D, was the best idea Wizards has had in some time.

So this means people are getting their Monster Manuals right now! I can't wait for THAT discussion thread. It may just top the PHB thread with requests.

They are already in hands! I was pretty happy to see this picture, yet the fingernail polish may have been a little overboard.

(EDIT: double-posted this in two threads.. my bad!)

I am equally pleased with the book as I am with your Oregon Ducks hat :)

Quick question. Can you confirm if the monsters are sorted like they were in the Basic Rules? That is, strangely alphabetical, with Adult Red dragon being in the "A"s and Young Red Dragon" being in the "Y" section?

My biggest grip was how they sorted it that way.

I can't take the credit for the Ducks hat nor the pink fingernails, nor the high-quality written product in-hand. It is a random picture from Mike Mearls's twitter feed, and not a picture of myself.

However, I second your question about monster listings to anyone who might have one.

Hey guys.

A bit busy. Will answer questions next week.

Mod Note: Sorry. I had to remove the image. Posting images of the book contents is definitely a no-no. ~Umbran

Thaumaturge.

You are most-definitely going to need permission by WotC before posting images of the MM interior. That'll get the hammer put down on ENWorld for copyright infringement, if they so choose to push the bill.
