Monsters by Mythology

Is there any source that categorizes monsters by mythology?

I'm interested in compiling a list of classic D&D monsters that exist on each Outer Plane.

Mainly I'd like to make sure I'm not sticking monsters on planes as natives to that plane when they really shouldn't be. For example, I'm not sure if Ettins & Minotaurs would exist on Arborea. Actually, I'm not sure what plane they would exist on as natives...or if it even matters.

Other monsters of interest would be things like Trolls, Hill & Stone Giants, Orcs, ect ect

I'm not sure your thread title agrees with the thing you want. The outer planes do not correspond well with real world mythologies. I would, by the way, love to see a list of monsters by mythology, outer planes aside.

Some planes have a slight theme to individual mythologies based on the gods that live there.

Arborea reflects the Greek mythology (and mirrors Roman mythology)

Ysgard reflects the Norse mythology

Various layers on a few planes reflect Egyptian mythology

ect ect

A lot of monsters that derive from these mythologies are common on the respected plane.
