monte's ranger?

First Post
Im going to use monte's alt ranger for an upcoming campagin. There are some things i don't quite understand. He didn't mention some things about the ranger like starting wealth: is it the same as the regular rangers? What about two weapon fighting? did he just leave it out because he assumed we would know we could use it or just becuase he didn't want the ranger to have it. Anything else I should know about monte's ranger?

Which Monte Ranger are you using? There are actually two of them, one he released on the web and the other is in the Book of Hallowed Might.

The alt.ranger is toned down a bit in BoHM, i.e., much closer to the 3E core ranger. Basically, it's like the 3E ranger with bonus feats instead of the two-weapon fighting.

A lot of posters here felt that Monte's first ranger was overpowered. This is kind of funny, since it looks like the 3.5E Ranger will be very similar to Monte's original alt.ranger (except with combat paths instead of bonus feats, and even more extra abilities).

That's true, but most of the new ranger's extra abilities aren't terribly powerful, and bonus feats are more flexible than the combat paths. Also, pretty much every warrior class is getting a power-up in 3.5. Still, I admit the 3.5 ranger will be fairly powerful in the overall scheme of things.
