I'll fix the Ranger!

Rangers don't get spells. Instead, their attacks deal an extra d4 damage per proficiency point.

Instead of gaining a subclass feature, they make an additional attack during the attack action. This stack on itself.

people loved Gloomstalker and somewhat Fey wanderer.

People were pretty happy generally with the TCE Ranger. While most did not like Favored Foe, Deft Explorer, Tireless and Nature's Veil went over very well in the games I played.

Add in that Gloomstalker and Fey Wanderer were both loved and I think the TCE Ranger was a huge success. We had players who still played 2014 subclasses though after TCE came out though.
