Pre-orders are live for the upcoming Forgotten Realms books, with one D&D Beyond listing providing some new details about digital DLC released alongside the books. Posted today on D&D Beyond, the "Forgotten Realms Ultimate Bundle" will include three digital expansions - Astarion's Book of Hungers, Netheril's Fall, and a third "secret" expansion to be named later. The digital expansions will be gradually released over a three week period. Astarion's Book of Hungers will include new player options, while Netheril's Fall will be an adventure book of some kind. Page count is not available, but currently the only way to get these three digital expansions will be through buying the "Ultimate Bundle," which has a whopping price point of $159.99 and includes both physical and digital versions of the other Forgotten Realms books.

What (little) information we know was provided by D&D Beyond and can be seen below:

  • Astarion’s Book of Hungers: a digital expansion where players can indulge in their vampire desires with new player options, monsters, and adventure content – all shared by Astarion himself! | Release Date: November 11, 2025
  • Netheril’s Fall: a digital expansion where players can explore the lost Netherese Empire in a time traveling adventure | Release Date: November 18, 2025
  • A secret third digital expansion – to be revealed soon! | Release Date: November 25, 2025

That does make more sense, it wasn't super clear to me from the store page itself. Still not excited to prepurchase for exclusive DLC addons.
They have said DLC add-ons will be available for purchase separately. The only thing that appears to be a pre-order exclusive is the Dallabad Oasis Animated Map. Oh, and they are thankfully updating the product info page, because I was confused about that as well.

Everyone else was so confident these were going to be free, and only contain short adventures
I never said or thought free. The Mortuary wasn't free. I just didn't think they were going to put PC facing stuff in it. That said, I don't think anything here is going to be exclusive. Dhampir is a Ravenloft option and you know dang well any horror/Ravenloft book is going to have them. The other seven species are probably likewise going to get reprinted later. And the third dlc IS an adventure.

Then again, we wouldn't be getting any of it if we had it your way, so pretend that's the case and ignore it until Ravenloft 2 or MotM 2 comes out I guess...

I most certainly do not know that.

And neither do you know that.

Ok.

Once again, I don’t think it’s true that not getting the content at all is the only alternative to the content being digital only. You somehow seem equally confident that this material will be reprinted in later books with physical versions as you were that there is no economically viable way for this material to ever see print in physical form. Which seems like an odd set of beliefs to hold simultaneously to me.
