More Irony

Is this a new EN World feature? Reporting on WotCs site up-time and down-time in real time?

could be, how much is it worth to you? You'll have to receive all updates here, or in an RSS feed. There will be a small charge for either....

that probably isn't as funny as i'd hoped, but oh well.

That's not ironic, that's just bad timing.

Now if it was acid rain on your wedding day and you were the head of the EPA... THAT is ironic.

I know. And the Wizards boards being down also isn't ironic. I used the bit from the song because it was the perfect example of something being claimed as irony that wasn't.

From what I understand, the Wizards site actually has several servers, one of which is assigned to you when you visit it. Occasionally, one of them doesn't update properly, thus giving an error.

So, the Wizards site can be down for you, but not for everyone.

Cheers!

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a003e'

Input past end of file

I've even exited IE, perhaps it is something on my end, making my post even more IRONIC.

VBScript...hum. If they are locked into Microsoft only technology for the current website, how well does that bode for browser independence/open standards for the DI.

As a Mac user, it worries me just a little.

Well ASP defaults to JS, and allows VBscript. Since it is an ASP page it might be a server side error (Server side ASP ,as in not ASPX, is still scripted), or they detected that he was using IE and decided that VB would work for him.

Even the new ASP.NET (aspx not asp) spits out just JS and not VBS.

I wouldn't be too worried about it not working on a mac, unless you have had issues viewing their site of course :)

Is this the first time you see a thread like this on EN World? I thought they were common.

Thanks, the info eases my fears. I don't know much about ASP, JS,and VBS, but if the end result works on my Mac, I'll be a happy camper.

Thanks again. :)
