::ahem::

Does anyone have any experience with the 5E version of the game? I really liked AiME, but I have no idea if LotRRPG (that's way clunkier than AiME) is basically a 2nd edition of AiME or its own take.
Same boat here, so I was looking around teh interwebz yesterday for just this info. A somewhat major difference appears to be that LotR5e classes are redone and only go up to level 10. It's not clear to me if that means the whole game has been rescaled or what, though.

the threads I referenced:

But I'd still hope to hear hear from anyone around here with info on LotR5e vs AiME.

“It’s probably Matt Mercer’s fault.”
Does anybody else find the whole "Stretch Goal" aspect of Kickstarter kind of cheesy and annoying?

I can see how if you are truly just donating money to an artistic project, like making a movie or recording an album, then it might make more sense. But when it's really just pre-sales with hype it feels disingenuous.

Backed (TOR edition). I had to really think about this one; took maybe 3 nanoseconds before I discovered that my wallet was open.

I'm not super familiar with AiME but LotRRP is surprisingly close to TOR 2e. Lots of mechanics carried over (Shadow points, Fellowship pts, etc). 5e is not my bag, but if it had to be I'd definitely go for that take on it.
