Most Ironic Winner of the WotC Setting Contest

Ironic? I think that having Peter Adkison, Gary Gygax or Dave Arneson win this would be ironic in the extreme. However...

Would be cool, but are unlikely to enter... I think having either Steve Jackson or Kevin Siembada win this would be a bit of an interesting turn of events...

Would be just plain wierd... I am not sure what would happen if someone like Anton LeVey were to win this. I am not even sure if they would advertise a winner at that point.

Coolness in the extreme... My personal favorites (after myself, of course) would be to have Robin Laws, Chad Underkoffler, Bob Huss or William Stoddard win this thing. Best yet -- have them all team up!

DING! DING! DING!

We have a winner! Most ironic game designer--Anton LeVey!

Oh, that would be a hoot! It would give every religious group who ever said nasty things about D&D a chance to say "See, I told you so!"

I really don't see Monte Cook or John Wick winning this.Yes the one pagers are done blind and being professionals there submissions may very well make the first cut.But the second round is no longer blind they will know the submitters names.

I really think they are looking for a possible freelance writer as well and some professionals are likely to turn in their 100 pages collect their big check and say adios WoTC (although Monte might help with the Campaign sourcebook, I don't think he wants to return to WoTC even as a freelancer)

If a pro does win it will be someone willing to work with them.

For 120k, I bet they could get Monte to sign on as the author of a D20 Pokemon Jr. RPG. That is a LOT of cashish for a game design job.

Um, guys?

LaVey is dead.

heh

Yah, I don't know if dead guys should be eligible for this... Otherwise we'd have J.R.R Tolkein and Sir Thomas Mallory in the running.

Just a thought anyway...

Bah. Mallory doesn't know $%&* about Challenge Ratings. I could design circles around him.
