Most ludicrous gaming rumors?

In honor of a recent thread, I want to know:

What are the most ludicrous gaming rumors you have ever heard?

I once heard a rumor about myself at GenCon 2003. Apparently, I was moving to England to run Mongoose's RPG division. I'm sure this news came as a surprise to the Mongoose people, at least as much as it surprised me.

This was also the same GenCon that I gave an extra badge with my name on it to my friend Eric. Eric is thinner, a little taller, and a lot more Asian than I am. At least twice (IIRC), people stopped him to say, "Hey I like your work." When he denied he was me, they didn't believe him. Thus, there is a chance that a few people out there think I'm second generation Chinese-Canadian. Beauty, eh?

One I not only heard, but actually helped spreading:

D&D is is getting a new edition real soon, and instead of Books you must buy boosters with feat cards, class cards, skill cards, and so on, and of course you can't use what you don't own. This is of course an adaptation of the whole TCG/CCG thing and Wizards is really enthusiastic about it. Yada yada yada.

I posted that one as an aprils fool joke over at mindflayer.de a last year or so, figuring I'd get a couple "that's a good one" or so. Instead I had half the forum up in arms. At the time I revealed it was a joke, they were halfway through assembling a lynch squad to take out Wizards.
