MotW: Forsaker

I like the idea of going Barb 1, ranger 1 fighter 1, or replace the level of ranger with another of fighter. A human will be in the class at level 4. The multiclassing boosts base Fort save, which lets you take Fast Healing, and the better bonus HP feats. Also, SR 11 isn't that bad for a 4th level character. At 13th level, the 20 SR won't be that bad but it would quickly decline in value. Faster healing and the bonus HP feats will increase the forsaker's toughness and healing rates, which are importatn since he won't be recieving effective healing magic.

That is a problem. You wont have nearly enough gold. You will have 49000gp when he is level 10. So he can get one book of +1.

2 problems with this, first the SR wouldn't stack and secondly all th e Monk's abilities that are considered supernatural the Forsaken cannot use. Supernatural is magical.

Under forsake magic, it says that the forsaker must avoid all spell-casting, spell-like abilities, and magic items (as well as avoiding the magic of other characters). It says nothing about supernatural abilities. In the pre-reqs it also talks specifically about magic items, spells, and spell-like abilities. Again it ignores supernatural abilities. Unless it says otherwise, supernatural abilities can be used with this PrC IMO.

According to the FRCS errata, Hobgoblins are ECL +1. I'm not sure if this has been changed again since, though...

I'm not disputing that supernatural abilities are magical. I'm saying that since they are not included under the list of magic abilities which are forsaken that they are allowable to the PrC. If the writers wanted supernatural abilities to be forsaken, they could have stated as such.
