In a Nazi Gestapo looking uniform no less. Who can resist that? :D

I liked Starship Troopers well enough too. Not bad at all. Didn't hurt that it had Dina Meyer topless either.

I loved Starship Troopers. And watching it right after Argentina had trounced the Chilean Soccer team made me glad the bugs blew Buenos Aires up. :] That was a very enjoyable moment for us Chileans. :lol

My biggest beef with starship troopers were the news anouncements were the narrator would say: "Do you want to know more?".

I always wanted to know more.... :p

Needless to say, that scene got applause in Brazil as well.

And Pelé was way better than that dwarf Maradona! ;)

And I liked Starship Troopers too, for the precise reasons Joshua mentions above.

The commercials for Fight Club totally failed to convey how the movie actually was. They made it look like a beat-'em-up movie tailored to appeal to guys who like 'splosions and ass-kickin's. If I wasn't already familiar with the book, I would have avoided the movie like the plague.

Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

Seriously.

The trailer made it look like it was gonna be completely stupid (not in the good way), and it took a friend's convincing to finally get me to see in the theater (a few weeks after opening day). Let's just say that I was very pleasantly surprised. :)

Having never seen the trailer, may I ask what about it was bait-and-switch?

I think they did the same thing for Patch Adams, as well, though having never seen that movie I can only go on what I heard. The trailer made it look like it was a lot of Robin Williams zaniness when in fact the trailer contained almost all of his joking around in a serious movie. I understand they did tha same thing with Kindergarten Cop. The trailer makes it out to look like a total comedy movie when (I've been told) the non-action-movie funny parts with him in the school are actually a fairly minor part of the film.

Oh, another one! Thunderbirds. The first Thunderbirds trailer makes it look like an adult action adventure movie with all sorts of daring-do in those amazingly cool Gerry Anderson vehicles. Then you see the second trailer and it's like it's advertising a totally different movie. Then you realize it's a Spy Kids-esque film all about the youngest Tracy son and his wacky second generation pals and you hardly ever see the other brothers.

I agree, but to be fair it's not exactly the kind of movie that's easy to market.
