I hope they don't do this. The cards aren't tourney legal and I would never play anyone who uses them even for casual play. It's a waste of R&D time when they could be making a set that's actually worth a crap.

Portal, Starter, those sets that are used to introduce more people into the game are not tournment legal, but people still use them in casual play. Why wouldn't you play someone in casual play with them? Tourney legal means nothing in casual play, that;s the fun in casual play. 4 black lotus in a deck, sure if you have them its fine in casual play. :D

I'm a more competitive player than I am a casual player. If someone plays me and beats me I want them to do it with a deck they put alot of work into. Not something they tossed a handful of unglued cards into and called it a "deck". I guess that's what I get from following the Pro Tour so closely for years. But it doesn't really matter to me in the end. I've not played/bought MtG in a long time and I don't tend to start back soon either.

I don't see the two as being mutual exclusive. People can build a serious well thought out deck him humor cards. Just like people can build something they tossed together with cards from any set.
