Multi-classing

Anyone got any advice on making a Magus (Black Blade) with Alchemist (vivisectionist) 3 level dip?

Is it worth it? Or simply better to go straight Magus?

Is there a particular reason you want to mix the two? Thats what I always ask those in my group when they want to multi class. I have nothing against it, but several of them have done it for lame reasons.

We had a magus that considered the same thing. His only reason for wanting alchemist was so he could brew all sorts of things. When asked if taking craft alchemy would do the job, he decided it would be a better solution.

I wanted the sneak attack dice, as I was thinking of going assassin later on, and the ability to brew potions/extracts... assuming I can use the Magus spells to do this...

ie if my Magus spells include Invisibilty, I assume I can brew a invisibilty extract using the alchemist Alchemy.

Also the Mutagen is nice little bonus too, the +4 dex and +2 ac for finessing is nice.

I don't think extracts work like that. Magus spellcasting is totally different than the alchemist's extract use. Yes, you can use a spellbook to write out a formula if it is also on the alchemist formula list but in this case, invisibility is 2nd level; even when converted from the magus spellbook to a formula beyond the capability of a 3rd level alchemist to create as an extract. If a spell isn't on the formula list then you couldn't make it as an extract.

Sorry I don't have any good advice to achieve what you want.
