Multiclass Ranger question

I have a doubt: the Hunter Quarry gained from multiclassing and usable once per encounter means:

a) The character can choose to set the quarry once, but them apply the bonus dice to damage during the entire encounter (like it is written in the Ranger Class Feature) or...

b) The bonus is only used once per encounter as well.

The way I read it it seems option (a) is correct, but pls give me a hand here.

Thanks in advance. ;)

Add the following sentence to the end of the second paragraph of the benefit section: “The target
you designate as your quarry remains your quarry until the end of your next turn.”
Assuming you declare your Quarry at the beginning of your actions, you get two rounds of possible Quarry damage, the round you declared it, and the round afterwards.

I would recommend checking out the Errata from WOTC to see if things like this are addressed.

Errata states the following:

Warrior of the Wild [Addition]
Player’s Handbook, page 208
Add the following sentence to the end of the second paragraph of the benefit section: “The target you designate as your quarry remains your quarry until the end of your next turn.”

So if you combine the two you get the following Benefits statement:

Benefit: You gain training in one skill from the ranger’s class skill list.
Once per encounter, you can use the ranger’s Hunter’s Quarry class feature. The target you designate as your quarry remains your quarry until the end of your next turn.

Do Rogues MC into Ranger often ??

So you time it so you get two rounds per encounter.

Which makes it almost worth getting for a Rogue when he needs a little extra D.

So a Rogue can put this extra damage in, on top of his sneak attack damage ??
