Multiclassing into Barbarian

If a PC multiclasses into Barbarian and then pays to swap one of their powers for a barbarian power with the Rage keyword, do they gain the benefits of the barbarian rage granted by the power?

Yes...why wouldn't they? It is an effect of the power not a class feature.

Rage feels kinda class feature-y, and it certainly was in previous editions, so I thought it best to verify it, rather than assume.

There are still barbarian class features tied to raging - namely, Rage Strike (which wouldn't be very useful to someone MCing into barbarian) and the boost to the barbarian at-wills.

Barbarian is one of the nicer classes for fighters to move into. The DR rage is awesome for a defender. There are good utilities and encounters (with high [w]) too.

I was actually considering it for a ranger PC. The PC is mostly striker, but has taken feats to gain plate armor so he can be a bit tanky when needed.

The +2 damage for 1 encounter per day seems rather nice, and I was looking into other powers/abilities from barb that might also be synergistic.

Barbarians are so nice to multi into because someone decided that having a striker who's damage bonus is purely provided by his powers was a great idea, and pretty much everyone pointed out that it would have this exact problem.

The +2 damage for 1 encounter per day seems rather nice....

It seems to me to be a whole lot better than multi-classing to Fighter for a +1 attack bonus for your next attack....
