In order for a monk to do decent damage, he NEEDS strength. In order for him to have a combat-worthy AC, he NEEDS wisdom and dexterity. In order for him to compete with other frontline classes, he NEEDS constitution. In order for him to complement the rogue at sneaking - dex again.

In fact, just about all he doesn't need is charisma.

This isn't really a problem with MAD. It's a problem with monks sucking.

No, its a problem with the monk trying to do to much. Punch damage increases with level so the damage will be there plus they get the extra attacks. A good Wisdom and Dex are important for AC but a monk is mobbile so probably shouldn't be expecting to go toew to toe as much as the fighter. And why is the monk trying to compete with both the fighter and the rogue for what he does? I do agree if you try to make one character better then two diverse character you will be in trouble. So, don't try to make one monk be everything and then the problem is solved.

Agreed. If monk should be anything, he needs only to be the guy that can be a second liner, but mostly to help out the front line guys and subdue stuff.

Leave the rogue work to the actual rogues.

I could, but I won't. I have responsibilities to review PDFs, I'm about to start a Story hour, and with the ENnies going longer (assuming I make it this year) I'll need to post for that. So, I won't flake on my responsibilities.

Well, certainly. I've seen you post that MAD is a myth in another thread, and I disagreed when I read that, but now that you've clarified to the core base classes, I agree with you.
