I have a couple of rule questions that arised during a game recently, mostly from not being clear enough. Just need general concensus on what people think about the way it is meant to be played and also if there was an errata or sage ruling in reagards to this.
1) Pious Templar(PG 50 CD): Mettle ability. It states that if you make a will or fort save that would normally reduce the spells effect, you suffer no effect from the spell at all. It goes on to state only spells with "will partial" "fortitude half" or similar entries can be negated through this ability
Well if it is similar to will partial or fortitude half, wouldnt it be easier to say, it you make a will save or fort save, you basically ignore the spell. Am i wrong in assuming this? What happens when a spell like sound burst(Fort Partial), do you ignore the damage if you make the spell? Or disintergrate? Because unless you fail a will or fort save, you are immune to those spells that affect those saves. Is it all or nothing like the rogues evasion ability?
2) Mordenkainens Buzzing Bee(PG 37 Miniature HB): 1st lvl spells, and lasts 1 minute /level. The bee creates an unnerving noise that disrupts the subjects concentration. Subject gets -10 on all move silently and concentration checks. If the subject attempts to cast or maintain a spell the subject has to make a DC 10 concentration check. It gives no SR check or save, and floows in darkness and invisibility or ANTHING, other than probably plane shifting.
Now that that mean the caster gets a -10 to concentration and then has to make a DC10 concentration check effectively making it a DC 20??? Isnt that kind of insane for a 1st level spell?
