Murder is the Pits

Rosalynn gives him a thoughful look. "I've been thinking about the next battle. Perhaps we should start out togeather..."

(OOC: I'm planning ahead a little...wanting us all to start togeather so you'll all be in earshot of her Inspire Courage song....couldn't hurt.)
"I don't know if they'll let us do that, but it's a good thought. We'll see." Vantitri replies.

"We should check out the temple. Ironwolf still doesn't look fully healed, and I'm not in the best of shape myself." Vanitri says. "I wouldn't mind looking up a good armor smith as well, and perhaps see about getting myself a nice set of that light weight chain I've heard so much about. Though keeping some cash reserved is not a bad idea, and that would drain me even with my winnings."

OOC: I believe you actualy fought after we did, so you would have either had to keep singing through our fight till the start of yours, or it would have only lasted 5 rounds after you stoped, so wouldn't have helped either of us durring the fight. I think we did ok, and the next fight should be an interesting experience.

Michael looks at his lock of hair, nonplussed.
"That's very silly. Well meant, but very silly."
He tucks it into his pack and returns to the group.
"Sadly, I have spent all the power lent to me today, so I'll have to defer to the local priests and healers. But I will come along shopping with you. I'm sure there's lots of interesting stuff here."
And as the group goes shopping, Michael looks very hard at the herbalists, healers, and alchemists. Somebody somewhere is selling much too much bloodfree, and that's hard to do by accident.

Ironwolf's available wealth is less than 8 gold. He can't afford any healing. While he knows Michael would prefer to reserve his spells for the coming fight, he nevertheless asks him for healing, in hopes that the cleric will continue in the generous spirit he has demonstrated thus far.

From the nights rest, Ironwolf recovers one additional hit point.

Michael wants to try and find out what beasts we're fighting tomorrow before he commits to that.
He will, however, try and put Ironwolf and, if he likes, Vanitri, under long term care to improve their healing. But this probably curtails people's investigation.
Rosalyn, it's all you!

Vanitri has some coin he can spair. (Plus, you have access to the 1000 in the bank)

To find that sort of mundane healing supplies, you would have to go outside the arena into the market. At the temple within the arena, there are a few gladiators lighting candles and otherwise paying their respects, including Ron, the older gladiator who you met last night. There are a few rpeists, and the one who Ironwolf spoke to earlier spots him and comes over. "Good day sir, do you seek additional comfort from Grendath, or have you just come to pay your respects?"

(Is vanitri going to pay to get himself and Ironwolf brought up to full?)

(also is anyone planning to gather info on the beast fight for the next day?)

"My friend here and I seek the healing hand of Grendath for wounds we aquired durring combat earlier today before we pay our due respects." Vanitri replies.

Once the cleric is tending to our wounds, "I hear that some gladiators fight some of the various beasts that have been brought to the pits for combat. How do those fights usually fare?"

OOC: Yes, and Yes, all in due time. Vanitri wants to find out how long it would take to get a Mithril Chain Shirt, and if they want the entire sum up front if it is not immediately available. Other than that, he will attempt to get some information about the beast battles.

Spellcasting isn't all that expensive. A cure light from a 1st level cleric should only cost 10 gold, unless KB is doing something different than the PHB.

Unfortunately, with the truly lousy rolls I made, it'll cost 40 gold to fully heal Ironwolf. If someone will lend him 33, he will gladly repay you when it becomes possible. Ironwolf will not touch his "freedom fund" under any circumstances.

Once healed, Ironwolf will be happy to check things out at the stables and see what kind of beasties the stable hands are discussing.

Ironwolf also wants to sick his pet rock on the gladiator who aproached him after the first match. While his behavior seemed friendly, Ironwolf is concerned that the friendliness may have been an attempt to mask more devious things. The psicrystal will sneak about listening in on whatever it can. It will give Ironwolf regular updates telepathically, and will let him no immediately if it observes anything suspicious. Can I also find out the fellow's name, and whether he has any connection to Ironwolf's "groupie?"

Ironwolf suggests to the others that with the fan reactions he has observed, the murders may have been motivated by "matters of the heart." He puts forward a theory that the succesfull gladiators may have been recieving sexual advances from an arena fan to whom the murderer had become emotionally attached. If he can do so privately, he will mention this thought to Petra and ask if she has any information regarding gender, sexual preference, and known romantic interests of the murder victims.

good news/bad news on that. The healing spells are 20 gold (the available caster is 2nd level) but those cast within the temple are maximized, so you get 10 hp a shot.
