Got to admit if I'd had the money it'd have been into the 500 usd level as I'd have bought a lot of other books and (metal) miniatures too.

All I know is that the next time my wife asks is that *another* gaming book I am showing her this thread!! :)

If that actually works you need to tell the people here so they can try that...... ;)

Holy Crap!

My purchases last year include:

Races of Stone
Book Of Exalted Deeds
Complete Divine
The Quintessential Druid
Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting

12 Months of Dragon

The money I spent is in Cdn $, so at an average of $40 per book, and $11 per magazine (taxes in), I'm looking at roughly $330 spent last year on D&D stuff.

More than $250, but that's not really all that many books (thus the "need more shelves" is silly!).

It consisted of all the FR books (except PGtF), NG adventures, Rokugan accessories, WLD, and my continuing multi-year subscription to Dungeon (amortized over 3 years).

There are so many worthwhile products out there now that I always feel like I'm playing catch up. lol

Me too. I usually put 3-4 books on the "to buy" list for every one i cross off (i.e., buy). And that's probably on a weekly basis, so i'm just getting further and further behind.

Anyway, those all seem like pretty small categories (both in terms of top value and spread) for a useful poll. I spent ~$300 on game books (and a few dice--~$20 worth) at each of GenCon and Origins, plus something like $100 at Con of the North. Oh yeah, and ~$200 at one FLGS's annual clearance sale, and ~$100 at the other's. That's in addition to my monthly expenditures, which probably average more than $100/mo, at a rough guess. Though it's hard to say exactly, because i keep poorer track of my PDF expenditures.

Should i count money spent on homebrew stuff (just dropped $20 to have a copy of my players' handout for my current campaign printed and bound), too? What about gaming presents (i bought my whole gaming group RPG stuff for Xmas)?
