The inquisitive piping and squeaking, now accompanied by the scuttle of many legs, grows louder. Eight dog-sized crustaceans appear at the edge of the torchlight, brandishing their claws with something close to apprehension.
"Did a chik?" one utters.
They advance! Everyone roll initiative!

"See if you can hold them off for just a few seconds!" Yella says as he tries to pull the trapped creature free from the rubble.
The vine dragon girl becomes visible as she yanks a grape-sized fruit free from her side and hurls into the swarm of crustaceans, realizing too late or not caring as the creatures start to utter words. "Did those land lobsters just talk? Stay back if you value your shells." The fruit explodes into a 10' radius wide raining pool of caustic juices and wickedly barbed seeds right in the middle of the swarm. 1d20+5=20, 2d6=3, 1d100=40

The blast engulfs the swarm. The lobstrosities shriek and become unglued. Their shrill, inane piping fills the ruin. None have died, but some have melted carapaces and sizzling appendages. The ones who avoided the worst of the blast scuttle towards Ivy, Yella and the trapped creature.
Ivy sights down the arrowshaft, aiming just a little high to compensate for gravity...not too hard at close range. A fact which unfortunately included them being pretty close. Not her preferred engagement range.

Ivy's arrow slams into the lobster's thorax with a crunch. It slumps to the floor, twitching and oozing.
The four lobsters damaged most by the grenade fruit scramble away into the darkness. The remaining three advance on Ivy and Yella with snapping claws and jaws. As Ivy fends one off with her bow, another clamps her leg. The other lobster makes an astonishing lunge at Yella and tears into him with a claw and a bite.

Ivy dances back a step with a curse, quickly shifting her stance to keep the injured leg back away from the creature...and incidentally, keep the shallow gash from being too visible to the others. It wasn't bad, but it was enough to let a trickle of whitish-green fluid out...perhaps not immediately damning as other than a mutation, but it would still raise questions. Ivy was not very good at lying, she'd discovered.
She took another shot at the nasty thing, but shooting at point blank range could be very tricky with a bow. Even small movements from the target could mess up one's aim.
