[Mutant Future] Raiders of the Mind Lord's Tomb

Yella creeps forward, spear leveled at the humanoid shape. "Can you understand me?" The albino's eyes dart about, looking for untrapped shapes that might be lurking in the gloom.

Ivy, does not hear a direct reply to her own question, but when Yella starts to move ahead, she goes as well, pulling her bow from its case as she does so.

On seeing the the figure there she pauses and frowns.

"Trapped by a cave-in. We need more light."

"Help, pain..." the figure beneath the rubble grunts. "You help...I help..."

The trapped creature either speaks poor wasteland common, or his agony is mangling his words. Rendering assistance will require a stronger light source than the pale glow from the hole in the ceiling.

After a little rummaging in her pack, Valla steps into the candlelight and touches the wicks of two more candles to the flame of the first, placing them on the ground around the fallen wanderer. She then steps back out of the light and becomes invisible once more.

Yella stoops to examine the rubble pile, trying to determine if the pinned creature can be safely moved. "We'll have you out as soon as we can," he says. "I'm Yella. What's your name?"

Ivy rolls her eyes and puts her bow away, hoping that she won't need it.

Hands free, she produces a torch and lights it from the candles to give a brighter light, so Yella can see what he's doing.

The light reveals the groaning creature. He is pig-faced, complete with little protruding tusks and a snout that trickles blood. Wispy brown and white hair covers his skin. Four powerful arms ending in finger-like hooves writhe and twitch. His lower torso and legs are trapped beneath fallen concrete and metal. It's a wonder the creature is still conscious.

Yella and Ivy begin to examining rubble, seeing if there is any way to free the creature without further harming him.

OOC: It will take Yella and Ivy an uninterrupted turn (10 minutes) to remove the rubble from the creature without causing further injury. Two turns if only one helps him.

Yella and Ivy work to free the pig creature. Even moving the smaller debris proves challenging because any shift in the pile's weight could inflict more wounds on the pinned mutant. But Yella's sharp mind and Ivy's fast hands are more than suited for the task. Valla turns her attention to the darkness. A click, chitin against chitin, catches her ear. There is another click, then another. She hears an inhuman voice, piping and inquisitive.

"Dah da chum? Da dah chee?"

A multitude of inane voices answer it. The creature beneath the rubble squeals, eyes wide with horror.

Valla teleports back to the group, whispering when she is close enough for them to hear her, though still invisible. "Ready yourselves, something is coming this way."

"Bother, bother, bother," Yella whispers, digging faster. "I don't know if I can free you before...." Yella stops talking, eyes darting back and forth between how much digging he has left and where the inane voices are coming from.
