That is the plan.

PS. Universe, I'll be at the gathering, too, so however it works out is fine by me, and hopefully you as well.
fantastic. Those of us interested will have to have a little pow-wow to coordinate our "attack" on the booth.

nice to hear you're going to be at the Con, Threshel! :)

I'm Threshel's Wingman on this attack run, so if he is limited to number of copies, I'll be able to pick one up as well. See you there.

For those who bought M&M 2nd edition, what do you think of it? Any juicy tidbits you really want to share with those of us who didn’t make it to GenCon? ;)

My first impressions of the book are...WOW! This book is a pleasure to read (well, the first 40 pages I've gotten through, anyways) and I look forward to the campaign I'm playing in moving to 2ed. The art/layout/design is simply stunning! But you would expect that.

A few items for those who are interested:

  • Green Ronin annouced that there will be a 2ed GM Screen and in April...hold for dramatic effect...a Golden Age Sourcebook by Chris McGlothlin (who wrote Noir and is a BIG fan of the Golden Age). Mr. Kenson also will be writing the Freedom City part of the book.
  • Steve Kenson confirmed that in 2ed Freedom City, Bowman graduates the Claremont Academy and will be a member of the Freedom League. Also, a Star Knight and a unnamed third member will be introduced.
  • No new word on the DC licence Black Industries has. GR seems willing to do it, but the final decision is up to BI.

Does it seem to support non-Super play any better/worse?
I don't have the book yet, but everything that's been released about it in previews and spoilers make the answer a resounding "Yes."

The addition of reasonable costs for skill ranks, detailed rules for casual equipment, devices, and impromptu inventions created by tinkerers, and overall better balance and design makes it much more useful for non-supers. It won't suit everything, but would be great for any game that makes use of the powers rules and has a fairly high power level. If I ever run Rifts again, run an ancient Greek game of demigods and heroes, or something like the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, I'll be using M&M.
