Mutants and Masterminds Second Edition

It already is for most of the people I know. I don't know of anybody (though I'm sure there are people) out there begging to go back and play Champions or Silver Age Sentinels.

You can add me to the list with Buzz. Plus this is a d20 book you’re going to find more people playing d20 products than Hero. :)

Not saying I don't enjoy M&M, it's immensely fun, and if I was going to try to get my wife involved in super hero RPGs I would be taking M&M over Champions/Hero. :)

Oh and I agree with Plane Sailing... There is a learning curve, and your first character is never going to be cost effective. It takes about 3/4 characters’ to really get going on it. :)

I trust Steve Kenson. The M&M line has been top notch so far.

Whatever changes were made, I am sure they were for the betterment of the game.

Sounds cool to me. While I've been quite happy with the first edition, I can see how adding a second edition to clarify or fix some of the big problem areas (offhand, I'd say that explaining character creation to help players avoid under-powered characters, clarifying power-builds to correct common misperceptions and make linked effects clear for everyone, addressing the question of skills and ratios, and altering a few powers that are too front-loaded would be worth the cost of admission for me).

Mind you, those aren't all things that bug me -- those are things that seem to be popular in the forums as bugging people.

Might convince my players to buy that edition, too. That wouldn't hurt. :)

Wow...this--word for word--was going to be my post

I have to agree that M&M is the standard for which all supers game must aspire. I think the simple thing that impresses me the most - over all other supers games (with the exception of maybe the original Marvel) is the fact that you can tell that the designers really know and love comics. The feel of the material in M&M is absolutely spot-on and does a great service to the comics industry.

I wasn't so sure about 1e M&M. When we started looking over the 2e material, I found I liked it more. Much easier to understand, better writing and more player friendly with regards to explaining things. Wish I could trade my hardly used 1e for a copy of 2e.

I'll wait for the rviews to decide if it is worth getting.
Seems reasonable to me, I'm sure reviews will be out before I get a chance to buy it anyhow, but has their ever been a new edition to a RPG that wasn't accepted and became the norm for playing?
