Thumbs down to putting the FAQ into a PDF file. Totally unnecessary and it's an extra step that those of us on slow work machines (like me) find a needless barrier.

I have a slow machine, and I would prefer it to be in pdf file, why do you dislike pdf so much?

PDF is a portable format that isn't editable, and looks pretty.

It's just a 100 KB or so document. Maybe you just need a better machine. :)

Good stuff.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the new "No powers as extras of other powers" things works out, and what that leaves for extras -- if you just have "area" and "sustained" and "triggered" to work with now or what.

But fundamentally, good stuff. Should clarify the rules a great deal and make it a lot more likely for one person's PL10, 150-point superhero to look like someone else's PL10, 150-point superhero -- at least in terms of balance.

And I love ability scores not modifying combat stuff anymore. That's a change that I wouldn't want in every game, but it totally makes sense here.

Well I already have used the sliding scale in some of my games... mostly going to 20pp/level.

As for the rest, *shrugs shoulder* I am in the camp of 'if it an't broken, why fix it'? I personally like the way super-stats are handled in 1st, and will just hate the whole "Spiderman has a 38STR and 40DEX" ... Also it seems a lot of 'optional' ideas from the Annual are not going to be rules? Why not just make those optional? I don't see any reason to change these things (Hero Points, Skill points, etc). I mean in most of the games I run I use 2:1 skills or more BUT why is this now the rule? I liked Extra Effort as it really gave me the 'comic book feel' Spiderman rarely uses his web parachute, so extra effort was a GREAT way to explain it. Buying powers as extras was just something a GM had to watch, but whatever I am 50/50 on that one depending on how powers are redefined.

ONCE again... this is just my childish rant, GR owns me NOTHING and I am prefectly happy with 1st ed. revised. To bad about any future products from M&M not being on my 'buy unseen/auto' list BUT they will still get my money when it comes to Blue Rose, Thieves World, Freeport, Warhammer, etc.

So, I guess I also shouldn't buy the revised edition anymore then... and just jump to 2nd edition right away in september. :)

Hopefully, the issues with Incorporeality, Invisibility and similar front-loaded powers are addressed then. :)

Bye

Maybe its just me but these two powers where fixed in the errata. (At least I think that Invisibility got the Inoperability rule in that to use another power in conjunction to it you had to have them at equal ranks.)

To me it doesn't look like a whole lot of stuff is going to be useable without editing in second edition now. The 4:1 skill ranks makes this all but impossible now. (or seems too)
