Hawk looks at Johnny Reb, and focuses on his sword. He launches a gravitational attack at the sword, attempting to rip it from the man's hands.

OOC: Using Move Object, rank 12, to attempt to Disarm Johnny Reb. I will pull it from his hand and bring it to me, but not touch it, just let it hover beside me.

I wasn't sure what modifyer to put in. It's a rank 12, so I think that means +12, but disarming is at a -2 if done at close range, and -5 for ranged attacks. Would Move Object be considered ranged, in which case it's a +7? I suppose add or subtract whatever modifiers are appropriate, since I just did a d20 roll.

OOC: Prometheus is Staggered and -1 to future toughness checks. Yes the Horrific Hellbilly known as Johnny Reb is a PL 12 villain. +10 to hit +14 on danage. If he had rolled and hit it wouldve been an autocrit by the rules.

Hex doesnt need an HP to reroll. Only Extra Effort. HP just allows to recover from the effects of Extra Effort.

I will say outright, negating him is a longshot, even with a good roll, I'd have to roll poorly. But if it works! WIN!

The Blast sends Prometheus reeling! The Nazis still standing, and untouched thus far, also seem to start to take ill. Some drop to their knees, others collapse outright, one unlucky soul topples over the rail from the second floor and lands on the marble floor like a bag of wet cement.

OOC: Prometheus still gets to go.

OOC: You roll to attack. Then use your Rank 12 as an opposed check vs his Strength. The attack hits. Now roll 1d20+12 dor the opposed.

Hawk managed to isolate the sword's gravity from the man, and ripped it from his hands, bringing it soaring towards his open hand.

At the last minute, he chose not to grab it, instead simply holding on to it with his gravity manipulation. Who knows what powers it possesses?

Prometheus shakes his head to clear it, then flies straight at Johnny Reb, letting loose a great blast of light right into the villain's face.
OOC: Spending my shiny new HP to Recover, canceling the dazed portion of staggered and leaving me hindered

Johnny throws up an arm to shield his eyes from the blinding glare. "You wish to take away my sight? But my vision of a New World, a World without the lesser races muddying the pure bloods, is clear and will not be muddied!"

Astral moves to Tarantula and is able to rouse the Awesome Arachnoid.

OOC: Let's get a posting player back in the action. Tarantula is stagged and still has whatever damage. But he is conscious and may act.

Tarantula shakes his head as his vision clears to see the young heroine Astral tending too him "Whoa, did you get the licences of that truck? Thanks for waking me up, something I get the sleepies really bad and just need a quick nap to get back in the game!" Standing slowly too his feet he looks around and readies to move towards the nearest group of troopers...

First tying to stand as a free action, Acrobatics check: 1D20+18 = [1]+18 = 19, failed. Great start. Needed to roll a 2 to make it. Nope. Takes my move action to stand so that's all I do this round...

Astral glowered down at Johnny Reb’s misogynistic words. “Really? Isn’t it the 21st Century?” she asked.

So he needed that sword, did he…

Hawk seemed to have the same idea, ripping the sword from the villain’s hands.

“Great minds,” she quipped.

As Prometheus launched himself at Reb, Astral flew down to get Tarantula back in the fight.

OOC: Sorry. Been trying to catch up all week.

Johnny gave a slow "golf clap" to the heroes. Yew have relieved me of my saber. Congratulations, you have only prolonged your pain." He begins to walk towards the group on the ground. At his feet, all of the gunmen are now in seizures, or worse have stopped moving altogether.

The saber clatters to the floor near Hawk as he focuses his gravimetric powers into a blast aimed at Johnny Reb. The Demon from Dixie sidestepped the blast. "Too slow Flyboy!"

More than a little dismayed by this turn of events, Hex summoned her will and concentrated. The floor around where the sword had fallen shimmered, the faint traces of a warding diagram flickering over its surface.

"He's drawing power from those others," the Grimoire noted with some fascination. "They must have all pacted with him. The same reason he could possess another one when his original body fell. Killing them would most likely weaken him."

Hex rolled her eyes. "We're not doing that."

"But they were fighting you as well!"

"I know, but...things work differently now. Killing is the absolute last resort."

The spellbook sighed. "No wonder there is so much villainy in your world. You take such pains to give evil every advantage."

She lifted her voice and called to the team, "I've got the sword. Concentrate on taking him down!"

(OOC - Create Object to form an enclosure around the sword; Selective to exclude anything but Hex's magic.)

“Any idea how?” Astral asked. “If he can just possess the next body…”

His mind was strong, but Astral hoped his body wasn’t quite as strong. She reached out with her powers to try and bind him up, immobilize him.

Astral tried to mentally grasp her foe and hold him fast. However, she finds Johnny Reb far too "slippery" as if her mental grip can find no purchase. He continued to stalk towards the group unabated.

OOC: I Believe your Snare is a Dodge to resist and Strength to overcome? Regardless he had a critical success on the die roll. Succeeding by 5 degrees. Yeeesh! Prometheus and Tarantula can still go.
