Prometheus swings at Johnny Reb who seems happy that someone has finally gotten up close and personal. "Yessss. That is it!" The blow lands on his chin and a bit of his hood tears as his head snaps back at an almost impossible angle.
It then raises up and demonic eyes lock with Prometheus and an inhuman grin can be seen through the hood now. Bloody teeth locked in an all-too-wide grin.

OOC: Johnny saves with a 27. The host body probably is in worse shape.
Prometheus needs a will or sense motive check

Johnny attempts to juke and lay out Prometheus with a haymaker, but the wily detective channeling the ages-old Titan was too savvy to fall for his trick and was able to duck the blow.

Meanwhile, Tarantula rested on his knees and attempted to shake off the cobwebs. (bad pun intended)

OOC: Tarantula autopiloted to use his Recover action. Johnny uses a Feint as a Move. Prometheus resists. Johnny power attacks for 2 and misses.

This was going on too long.

Focusing on his hand, Hawk warped space once more, sending the concentrated gravitic blast at the demon thing once more.

OOC: [roll0]. DC 22.

It was difficult for Hawk to get a clean shot off while Reb was now scuffling with Prometheus. The Bolt misses Johnny by perhaps an inch, and cracks the pristine marble floors behind them.

OOC: 22 is a Miss

Hex opened her grimoire and opened it to one of the bookmarks she'd inserted into the pages. With her left hand she traced a complex pattern in the air. It lit up in lines of magenta light as she did so, then flashed as she completed the diagram and called out, "Hexat!"

A similar mark appeared on Johnny Reb's forehead then, and abruptly he was lost in what looked to be an endless solipsistic void; locked in his own mind...

(Will save DC 19 to defeat the Affliction. Hexat inflicts Impaired/Vulnerable on success, Disabled/Defenseless on first degree success, or Controlled/Unaware on second.)

The diagram twisted and turned and as it did the light became darker until it formed a upside down pentagram of black light.
Johnny began to cackle.
OOC: Johnny is unaffected by the will attack.

Round 8

“Why won’t this guy go down!” Astral growled in frustration. She reached out with her mind and grabbed one of the museum benches, hurling it at Johnny Reb.

The inhuman cackling was enough to chill even the bravest of heroes to the marrow. The Hillybilly from Hell continued to try to kill Prometheus with his bare hands! He grabs the Hero by the neck and lifts him off the ground and hammers him in the solar plexus and casts him to the ground.
OOC: Prometheus needs another Will or Insight. I will then resolve the HTH attack roll.

edit: speeding things along will vs dc 33: 1D20+8 = [3]+8 = 11
Prometheus is Demoralized and takes a -5 until the end of his next turn on all checks. Johnny hits with a 21. Uses extra effort and hits again with a 21
Toughness : 1D20+12-6 = [4]+12-6 = 10

2nd Toughness : 1D20+12-7 = [10]+12-7 = 15

Prometheus ends up staggered with an addition -2 on toughness checks.

“Quick! Hit him now while I’ve got him!” Astral called to the others. She only partially had him. They had an opportunity now to put him down and end this properly.

Hex nodded and paged through her book to a well-used bookmark.

"The sword..." the Grimoire started to protest, but she cut it off. "It's warded. That's the best we can do for now. We can't let this chance go by."

Once again, flares of energy spawned numerous whirling portals scattered around Johnny Reb as she incanted from the book!

"O Lord, Mask of flesh and bone, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man, Truth and temperance, Upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws!"

The portals flashed open, each one revealing a glimpse from a slightly different angle of a cloud flecked sky of purest sapphire, with a mountain range visible on the distant horizon shaped from gold and bronze, capped with silver instead of snow. And over that massive central peak...a light. Beyond the sun, beyond all reckoning, the light over the great mountain grew as the portals seemed to 'move' towards it. Brilliance greater than laser beams spilled out through those tiny gaps, from one world into Hex's...beams of incandescence too great for anything mortal, and precious few immortal, to bear!

100 ways 2 die: 1D20+10 = [17]+10 = 27

(Toughness DC 25, multiattack, setting variable effect to 'radiant/holy'.)

Blazing light erupts from the rift and slams into Johnny. The radiance engulfs him and for a moment you can see the silhouette of the villain. Then, the light fades and he is gone.

Astral settled down to the floor again, blinking away the afterimages of Hex’s last spell. “So what was that?” she asked Hex. She did a quick mental scan of the area around them in case there were any surprises waiting. “I think we got everyone?”
