And die_kluge, I can honestly say I have never before heard the words "dumping an inch" and "all-day blizzard" used in the same sentence at the same time.

Of course not! You live in Alaska.

But in my defense, it was like 70 degrees the day before, so we got a ton of snow that melted right off the bat before any of it started sticking.

Darn it! I thought that was a Utah expression. Of course, we say it like, "If you don't like the weather in Utah, wait half hour." close enough :\

BTW, I washed my car last week. It's still dry... (cold today, though)
