If you were going to start with the Expanded Universe stuff, I'd definitely start on some of the materials set soon after RotJ. The Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn (Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, & The Last Command) set 5 years after RotJ are the novels that really sparked a lot of what we now call the EU, and is a very good place to start (as well as being the first appearance some characters who become very important later on like Mara Jade, and Gilead Pellaeon).Allura said:This era intrigues me, but I've never read much of the Expanded Universe. Is this a good place to start, or should I go for some of the earlier right-after-RoJ books?
If anyone knows of a site listing the timeline for the novels, I'd appreciate it.
If you want to hop into the Legacy series, you don't need to know anything of the Expanded Universe, since it's set so much into the future.Allura said:This era intrigues me, but I've never read much of the Expanded Universe. That's very easy to do. Most campfire stories are better than the prequel trilogy. In my opinion.Klaus said:far better than the Prequel Trilogy, IMHO.
I sense some shocking secret about Darth Krayt, and the fact that he's NOT omnipotent (as seen in issue 1) adds more depth to the character.kroh said:Cool site...yeah I am digging the new story and although the Darth Krayt character is a little over the top...I am anxiously waiting for issue 4. I guess i'll have to read my KotOR books till it ships.
