My Orc Wizard

I have an Orc Barbarian 1 / Wizard 5 / Eldritch Knight 2 and I'd like some tips on what to do for his next level. Character is named Grym Mordib. (Link to Character Sheet) He is part of the Core Coliseum board at the WotC boards. Next level will be another EK and I'm not sure what to do with my level 9 feat. Been mostly using him as Buff up and Melee kind of guy, but he can also do OK at range. Only Core 3.5 material (PHB, DMG, MM) is allowed, and he will have 9,000 gp to spend. What do you think?

Here are my thoughts:
- Create Arms and Armor - Nothing good among the cheaper items he could make, Spell Storing and Wounding are nice but need high caster level.
- Extend Spell - Could be ggod, especially for Acid Arrow. Arena rule says spells longer than 16 hours can be cast before combat. I could do that with another level but a Lesser Extend Rod might be better for this.
- Craft Wand - Cheaper than scrolls, but I almost never use scrolls anyway.
- I was thinking about Improved Initiative or maybe Iron Will to boost a poor save. I can get Gloves of Dex to boost my refl save.

Useful items suggestions would also be helpful, as well as spell selection and strategy. Past battles are linked at the bottom of the Character Sheet.

Craft Wand, both for utility spells and for combat spells.

50 shots for 5d6 area damage (or 4d4+4 single target damage) comes out to a lot of damage over the course of several battles.

Extend spell is also nice, but you need a better caster level to put it to proper use.

If you have the book Complete Warrior, check out the Arcane Strike feat. To activate it (free action) you give up any spell and (for 1 round) get a bonus to hit equal to the level of the spell and do 1d4 x spell lvl extra dmg with each hit. So, for example, you can give up a 3rd lvl spell for +3 to hit and +3d4 to dmg for one rd.

Sadly only Core Material, shilsen... but you're right, that feat rocks for cleaving EKs.

Edit: oops no cleave? Arena fights only, eh?
