My favorite is the Gnoll Monk. :)

Do you use a glossy finish coat on those? I picked up a can of the spray matte from Citadel and am wondering how it will look and what advice you might have on the final finish. :)

Citadel makes a good matte finish, it tones down the shinyness excellently without muddling up the colors. The Testors matte finish gives a stronger coating for protection. Best used in combinations.

Remember to spray the fig with matte after you finish each section or layer. If you are touching up stin tones and accidentially get paint on the cloak you just finished, you can get the new paint off with a wet paint brush witout messing up the cloak. the Citadel matte is so thin, it does not clog the details of the mini.

I use Krylon Low Odour Clear Matte Finish (Clear Latex Enamel). The only one I used so far I can't say much about varnish...

I usually give a shot or 2 when I finish painting than I base the mini and give anothere shot. It help keep the sand/little rock/grass in place.
