As indicated in previous threads, I've joined a Carrion Crown group. Rules for rolling your character were as follows: 5d6, reroll 1's and 2's, take 3 highest. 4 Traits with 1 coming from Carrion Crown.

I created an Undead Scourge and a fellow player helped me with everything, but I'm a bit confused on the math and was hoping some of you find folks at ENWorld might help me break it down or at least help with corrections. Without further ado, my character:

Level 3 Human Undead Scourge of Iomedae

STR 20 (18 + 2 for human racial bonus)
DEX 15
CON 17
INT 12
WIS 15
CHA 18

Initiative 4 = 2(Dex)+2(Misc.)
AC 22 10+8(armor)+2(shield)+2(dex)
Touch:12
Flat footed: 20
Fort: 10= 3(Base)+3(Ability)+4(Misc.)
Refl: 7= 1(Base)+2(Ability)+4(Misc.)
Will: 9= 3(Base)+2(Ability)+4(Misc.)

BAB 3
CMB 8 = 3(BAB)+5(STR)
CMD 20 = 3(BAB)+5(STR)+2(DEX)+10

Equipment:
Masterwork Bastard Sword AB+9(7) 19-20/x2 1d10+5
Mighty Composite Longbow AB+6 x3 1d8+5
Half Plate +8(bonus) -7(check)
Spiked Heavy Steel Shield +2(bonus) -2(check)

Attacks:
Smite Undead AB+13(11) 1d10+9(11)
Shield Bash AB+9(7) x2 1d6+5

Feats:
Two Weapon Fighting
Improved Shield Bash
Double Slice

Traits:
Heirloom Weapon
Killer
Military Vet
Chance Survivor

So with all that, does anything look incorrect or out of place? I'm confused to the two values to all the attack bonus. Also, I'm wondering about the max dex thing I keep reading about while wielding heavy armor (I believe).

Keep in mind that Heirloom Weapon trait now has errata. It is no longer a masterwork weapon that provides an additional +1 trait bonus to attack/damage. Instead it is a standard weapon that provides a +2 to one combat maneuver, or +1 to attacks of opportunity.

If your heirloom is your sword, it can still be masterwork if it had the 'Masterwork Transformation Spell' applied at some point. It could also be the bow, or offensive shield, but since bastard sword proficiency isn't automatic, it seems the most likely to be your heirloom and I figured I would note this.

For equipment, you have the following breakdown:
Bastard Sword 35gp + 300 for MW
Composite Longbow 100gp + 500gp for +5 str bonus (You have a total attack bonus of +6 for this weapon, which breaks down to +3 BAB +2 Dex and +1 ?. If this means MW, add an additional 300gp to the cost)
Half-plate 600gp
Heavy Steel Shield 20gp + 10gp for spikes

If your GM is allowing standard wealth for a 3rd level character, you have quite a bit left to spend (either 1345gp or 1145gp depending on whether that bow is masterwork). You may wish to consider making the armour and shield masterwork. There might even be enough leftover to make either the armour or shield magical with a +1 bonus.

Maximum Dex is listed in the equipment chapter under armour. Essentially, if an armour lists a maximum value, any AC you would have a from a Dex bonus higher is lost. So if you are wearing half-plate, and the max Dex bonus is +0, then you can't add any of your Dex bonus to your AC.

In the case if this particular character, that means your Regular AC is only 20, touch is 10 and Flat-Footed is 20.

Not sure exactly what you mean by two values to the attack bonus. Most likely, this refers to the attack penalty if you're using two-weapon fighting (sword and shield in this case).

You also have the values for this incorrect, I believe. A heavy shield, when bashing, is considered a one-handed weapon, but not a light weapon. So when you are using both your sword and shield to attack in one round, both are at -4. Attacks would break down as follows:

MW Bastard sword (one-handed) used along
Attack: +9 = +3 BAB + 5 Str + 1 MW
Dmg: 1d10 + 5 str

Spiked Heavy Steel Shield used alone
Attack: +8 = +3 BAB + 5 Str
DMG: 1d6 + 5 Str

Two-Weapon Use
MW Bastard Sword
Attack: +5 = +3 BAB + 5 Str + 1 MW -4 TWF
Dmg: 1d10 + 5 str
Spiked Heavy Steel Shield
Attack: +4 = +3 BAB + 5 Str -4
Dmg: 1d6 +5 Str

When smiting, you can add +4 from your Cha to your attack bonus and +3 damage for your level to any attacks against the target of the smite. These are in addition to the bonuses and penalties listed above.

In any case, it sounds like your GM is going for a pretty high-powered party, with the two extra traits, and a rolling method that has given you the equivalent of a 63 point-buy. Hopefully he or she is bringing their A-game if the whole party has stats to match :)

I super appreciate all the help!

I actually joined the campaign late, and so far I've only set through one play... but the DM has mentioned adding several extra enemies for enounters or upping the DC on some things.
