Not to go off on a tangent here, but WTF? Doesn't your county or state have a Child Protective Service department to handle this kind of thing? I worked for the CPS dept. in my county here for a few months, and social workers did everything. They might have brought a cop along just in case something got out of hand in this particular case, but it still would have been a nice friendly social worker taking the child, not a big scary cop

Anyway, sorry you had such a lousy day. I don't envy police officers.
