[Myspace] "Worship"

This is interesting....

Wizards, on their D&D Myspace page, sent a message to all their friends, entitled, "Worship." Open it up and it's a Adobe Flash of the Statue from the 1st ed AD&D PHB. Just the upper half with the statue, no players hanging on it either. The picture just shows the heat rising from the .... bowl (or whatever it is that the statue is holding). The eyes are twinkling. No other text is given with this.

I'm betting this is directly relivent to whatever WotC is announcing this week. Specificly, that it is a re-release of an updated 1st ed AD&D (to compete with OSRIC, C&C and other 1st ed fantasy games).

Look at the D&D Myspace Blog, the last post was the picture in question adn teh "Currently Readin" was the AD&D1E PHB.

I think it's just a cool pic and has nothing to do with much of anything.

Bring it back!!!!

Bring it back!!!!

Bring it back!!!!

I need some new 1st ed Player Handbooks!

There is a market for the older game, just give us a chance to prove it.

That's exactly what it would take to get me to buy a WotC D&D book.

I think my whole group would buy them cause our current 1st ed books are pretty beat up because some of them have seen like 20+ years of use.

Everyone keeps saying that the market isn't right for a 4.0. Well there is a market for a 4th ed, if it is an updated version of 1.0. WotC could support both 3.5 and New1 at the same time.

I agree - Basic and Advanced co-existed for a long time. It certainly WOULD be easier to drum up 1e groups if WotC supported it, although I doubt it's going to happen. Alas.
