A giant nocturnal predator, the giant dragon-moth has developed a unique defense tactic...turning into a dragon. The large dusky grey creature can often drive off far meaner predators using it's acidic spray, which is easily mistaken for a breath weapon when changed into its dragon form. While it change shape, it cannot change color, however, rendering it as a grey dragon when changed. More than one encounter with an unreasoning Steel Dragon has been, in fact, an encroachment on a dragon-moth's territory.
Change Shape (Su): A dragon-moth can assume the shape of any dragon up to one size class lower than itself. . In dragon form, the giant dragon-moth losses it's natural attacks, and only gains the claw and bite natural attacks as per a dragon of that size category. It does not gain any additional abilities with size, othar than the Frightful Presence ability, which functions exactly as if the dragon-moth were a true dragon of that size category. A change in form cannot be dispelled, but a dragon-moth reverts to its natural form when killed. A true seeing spell or ability reveals its natural form.
Acid Spray (Ex): When attacked or disturbed, the creature can release a 30-foot cone of acidic vapor once per round. Those within the cone must succeed on a DC 15 Fortitude save or take 3d4+2 points of acid damage. It retains this ability in both its normal and dragon forms. The save DC is Constitution-based.
Skills: Giant dragon-moths have a +8 racial bonus on Spot and Move Silent checks. *They also have a +4 racial bonus on Survival checks to orient themselves.
