NE vs. N (FFA): Very Young Tarterian Dragon vs. Adult Ethereal Dragon

Round 684

OOC: To do the engulf maneuver, the belker needs to be in smoke form. Smoke form is equivalent to gaseous form, which can't attack physically, thus no AoO. This is the way they should have converted the smoke paraelemental, it makes more sense.

The bat doesn't absorb the smoke into its pores. (Rolled 27 Fort save)

The bat hovers down to 60N30E30Z and attacks three times. All of the attacks hit, but do no damage.

OOC: Oh right. I was also unsure about the size of the bat. I assume you checked that the bat is medium and not large? Knowing the wingspan unfortunately doesn't help.

Belkie will try the smoke claws again, especially now that he knows the bat can't hurt him in smoke form. Well, unless he fires that ray of course.

Round 685

The bat does not feel like breathing in claws today (21 Fort save).

The bat floats up to 60N30E30Z and fires another ray, striking. Belkie gains two more negative levels, and is at 13 HP.

The bat apparently looks confused as it flies up to the same position? Belkie will either follow (or not) and try yet another smoke claws. Hey, it has to roll a 1 eventually.

Round 686

OOC: Let's put the bat at 60Z this time.

Still no inhalation. (15 Fort save)

The bat drops down to 60N30E55Z and swings harder this time. All three attacks hit, still for no damage.

Round 687: The bat saves, moves to 60N30E40Z and fires a ray. Belkie loses the last 2 levels it has left and dies.

Next for NE in round 687: a large earth necromental. (Libris Mortis)

A large earth elemental that looks more like graveyard dirt than healthy earth walks into the arena to 60n0e. It shakes its fist at the bat and then sinks into the ground without a ripple.

Without tremorsense, will the necromental even know if the bat lands?

If he will, then his goal will be to lure the bat to the western edge, pop up on the eastern side of it and Push it out of the arena.

Dirt Man just doesn't want to play by Batty's rules. ;)

An over-sized pelican about as large as a human female (and weighing as much as Roseanne Barr in her heyday) and with a slightly humanoid face walks into the arena on two wobbly legs. Despite the humanoid-shaped face, the Wobbly Goblin has a short bill. Instead of wings, it has a set of thin, clawed arms. Its feathers are short and of a ghastly grayish-brown color, and its legs, bills, and claws are a deeper, yet also hideous grayish-brown, kind of like dried blood.

WG looks around for his flock and not finding it moves to 80n25e and readies to fire a ray of exhaustion at the next opponent coming within 45ft.
