NE vs. N (FFA): Very Young Tarterian Dragon vs. Adult Ethereal Dragon

Round 698

The spear bounces off the dragon (rolled 15-4=11).

The dragon breathes at AJ, who gets pummeled (rolled 12 Ref save) for 40 points of force damage. AJ is out. The dragon moves to 60N60E.

First in round 699 for Neutral Evil is a chraal (Monster Manual III).

A large, dark blue humanoid enters the arena to 60n15e. 8 feet tall with jagged spikes along its back and arms, Icy Cool (no relation to the poster of the same name) breathes a jet of cold air at Mr. Dragon.

Round 699

Mr. Dragon dodges the icy blast, but still takes 13 points of cold damage. Mr. Dragon has 171 HP remaining.

Mr. Dragon charges Icy Cool, who misses with his swipe (rolled 18) as Mr. Dragon approaches. Mr. Dragon pushes Icy Cool back (24 vs. 11 Strength check) to 60N0E. Icy Cool is not afraid of Mr. Dragon (natural 20 Will save).

Icy Cool will breathe some more frosty goodness and then move around Mr. Dragon to try to get on his east side. That'll be, what, like 55n15e? Of course, this will provoke, but better that than getting pushed out like an imbecile. I mean, really, you gotta be a complete and utter loser to get bull rushed out of the arena.

[sblock] Just Kidding :D [/sblock]

It would have been 20E. Mr. Dragon is large.

Round 700

Mr. Dragon dodges, but still takes 14 points of frosty goodness damage. Mr. Dragon has 157 HP remaining.

As Icy Cool tries to move around Mr. Dragon, Mr. Dragon tries to push it out of the arena. Icy Cool misses as Mr. Dragon enters its space (rolled 20), and Mr. Dragon pushes Icy Cool out (25 vs. 10 Strength check). Mr. Dragon is located at 60N5E.

First in round 701 for Neutral Evil is a bloodmote cloud (Libris Mortis). I will need some stats, please.

I was not sure, but the text says, "You can make a bull rush as a standard action (an attack) or as part of a charge (see Charge, below)." (emphasis mine)

Gansk, what is your opinion of this?

If I am incorrect, the alternate plan was this:

Mr. Dragon grabs Icy Cool, whose AoO was unsuccessful, holds on (grapple 43 vs. 32), inflicts no damage, and moves into Icy Cool's space.

Mr. Dragon lets go, but still gets to act. Is Icy Cool considered to be holding onto Mr. Dragon. If so, does Icy Cool let go?

Hmm...I'm not sure about the let go part of it. I think letting go would be a free action and thus not possible as part of the AoO. I don't think it's part of the grapple attack to be able to let go also. If he can let go, however, Icy Cool will not let him (at least try not to let him, so wouldn't it require another grapple check?).

The let go was part of Mr. Dragon's turn as a free action. The AoO was over. I should have clarified that.

Mr. Dragon decides to keep grappling, if Icy Cool does not want to cooperate. Mr. Dragon pins Icy Cool (46 vs. 27 grapple), then shifts Icy Cool out of the arena (32 vs. 20 grapple), letting go of it in the process.

Now, first in round 701 for Neutral Evil is a bloodmote cloud (Libris Mortis). I will need some stats, please. Mr. Dragon is at 60N0E, and has 157 HP remaining.

You can't bull rush as an AoO. It's not an attack, it's a standard action.

I don't see any evidence to support this. Of course the Bull Rush as an AoO can only push back a maximum of 5 feet, as the bull rusher has no extra movement allotted to him.

The stats on the bloodmote cloud have been sent. The creature is poorly written, so I am assuming 1) its flying manueverability is good and 2) blood drain causes an extra 1d3 damage on top of the creature's normal damage.
