[Necro] Tome of Horrors teaser

Looks like you did some fabulous work, Scott!

Thanks Toberane. Whilst I would like to take all the credit for it, I can't. I mean, without Erica, Boz, Clark, Bill, and especially the original creators of monsters we converted, there would be no Tome of Horrors.

But- I can take a lot of the credit... :D

You won't find any of the monsters in Tome of Horrors in any other official Wizards of the Coast product!

I thought that a very small number of the devil/demon lords were also going to be reprinted in WotC products, like Orcus for example. I remember this being mentioned in the past.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and by the way, this book looks GREAT!

Like Clark said, a handful of monsters (but only one, maybe two demon lords/princes, or arch-devils...can't say exactly and which one).

But- I can tell you this....nobody else has (or probably will in the near future) stat Lucifer. :D

i think the skeleton warrior and death knight are, which was why they got renamed.

Skeleton Warrior is still the skeleton warrior. The Death Knight (the 1e one from the FF) is in there as the DEMONIC Knight. More or less the same monster with a new history, background, and maybe a few surprises (can't tell everything :D)

I remember a DRAGON article that was reprinted in a BEST OF DRAGON collection that talked about Lucifer in game terms. I made sure never to leave that magazine around, open to that page, where my parents could see it. :)

Yep. If you have the Dragon Magazine Archive, then you can find it on Disc One. Type in "Lucifer" in the search engine.

I remember thinking as I read it, "I bet this helped D&D's reputation for being satanic back then." Heh.

Actually guys, that article (called "The Politics of Hell" and written by Alexander Von Thorn) was the basis of my inspiration for that very version of Lucifer. There is a bit of politics in the background/fluff text that was inspired by that article.

I've got my copy already pre-ordered at the local shop.

I gotta admit to being tickled to see my name in the "special thanks" section. Made my day. Thanks, Scott and Clark!
