Need a Colossal Intelligent Creature

I suppose I may have been looking at this all wrong...

A colossal Fey or any colossal humanoid sounds just fine.

For the purposes of the stroy, i guess, it need only be really big. I promise you all, one this is all done I'll show you why this was so important.

Thanks for those stats...

Only comment I have to make right at the moment is that If you want it to be a Colossal fey it's a HD D6 not D8 which I was orriginally using for a Monsterous Humanoid

Mr. Toilet...eh...Telim Tor: A dragon has many advantages over all other creatures.

First of all, they are inherently though, having d12 as HD, and at colossal size incredibly high ability scores, not to mention only good saves.

Secondly, almost all dragons cast spells as sorcerers, some may even learn cleric spells and spells from certain domains as arcane spells (Blue, Red, and all the metallics, for example.)

thirdly, they have very nasty innate abilities, ranging from immunities, high AC, and damage reduction, via scent (see dragon magazine #296), dakvision, blindsight (which together makes it impossible to sneak up on a dragon), to a devestating breathweapon and innate spell-like abilities. add at least two forms of locomotion (most commonly a land speed and the ability to fly.)

So I say, depending on how powerfull you want it, take a wyrm or great wyrm dragon and add a few class levels. A dragon is a lethal and intelligent opponent. Think about it.

well you could just fudge it :) ... pop a 10 int on a kaiju (or use one of krishnath's (yours!) ... the really wierd abomination ones that were int too ...)

Advanced nightshade

Another option is, if you wanted an intimidating, completely evil monster is to use a nightshade and advance it until it gets to Colossal size. Or maybe an evil Titan?

You could also pretty much make anything into what you are looking for if you were willing to use mulitple templates to the creature. For example, taking an animal and applying the kaiju template on it and then slapping on the Paragon template from the Epic Level Handbook, which gives a +10 on all ability scores including Int, which would give the monster an Int of 12.
The CR would through the roof though, so if you intend on having the party fight this thing you might want to pass up this option.

Rongoon

There's so much at my disposal already, creature wise... I was (and have been) trying to create a new creature all together. It started with the story... It went to concept art and got jammed. I know what the creature has to able to do and what it should not be able to do. I guess you guys don't care you if know the whole story...

The church of Rongoon was the dominant force 2000 years ago. It's worshipers felt a strong connect to their god. For as they prayed with the clergy their wishes would be granted. No one except the high priests knew exactly why. They just took it all in faith. A paladin of Rongoon learned that Rongoon was not a diety, but a colossal creature that terrorized the non-believing nations. He learned that the proserity his people had was due to acts of such unspeakable horror... and that only the high clergy knew it.
This Paladin, a man named Melitor, took it upon himself to kill the creature. Why, you may ask? Because although he believed in the church and had faith, he disapproved of the slaghter going on in the name of religion... but the big reason for taking up his sword is due to the lies from the high clregy...

Make a long story short....

He's able to "kill" it.

I need IT.

I need Rongoon, Holy Terror.

Quite a great back story there. for the Rongoon As for making a special creature, maybe make it an Outsider or mabye Fey if it is worshipped and is from another plane. If it is from this plane, you might want to make it a Magical Beast, Dragon, Aberration, or Giant depending on how you want it to look like and/or function.

What does the church and the people picture it as looking like? Is this accurate?

As for powers, what sort of powers are you looking for? Illusionary? Defensive? Destructive?

Going by your backround, it seems that the real Rongoon is just a shadow of what alll the people really think it is. Perhaps you could play up on that- make it some sort of dual-sided being, as are all shadows, existing in neither pure light nor darkness but in the twighlight between the two.
Perhaps the creature has both light and darkness based powers. Light powers that burn people to death like his fanatical adherents may have.
And then covering it all up with darkness powers and concealment like the high clergy have covered their crimes up with deceptions and lies.

A creature that could not exist in pure light or pure darkness.

Is that the sort of ideas you want?

Rongoon

I always imagined Rongoon as a four-legged creature. With massive tree-trunks as legs...

But as for the existance of the creature... It only comes out at night. It exists under the light of the moon (as the legend would say). It hates light... As a Drow would. It's colossal, but it's size is masked by the darkness and natural coloring. It's not as much of a snarling creature as it is a STRONG BIG creature. It's not a dumb as a cow or as intelligent as a wolf... I would say it is as smart as a horse. It's got an exo/endoskeleton... it moves silently in the night... and GOLD is it's only weakness. Gold glimmers like the sun... Like Rongoon's brother, Pravlutenta.

Not a dragon necessarily but something else.

It must be colossal size. Easy enough.
It must be intelligent... Not super intelligent, just smart smart enough to know what it's getting a fair deal and when it's getting screwed.
It must have a breath weapon. I was thinking sonic attack.
It must be an overland creature. Not sea or subterranean or mountainous.
I was thinking it would be a quadraped though that is up for debate.
It should be kind of menacing

First question whats your world like it could be a Colossal Giant, or a Colassal Fey or Even A Colossal Monsterous Humanoid

Something like a Medussa Archon

Rongoon
Colossal Sized Fey
Hit Dice: 30d8 +90 (218 hp)
Initiative: +2 (Dex)
Speed: 60 ft.
AC: 15 (+1 Dex, +3 natural)
Attacks: Full Blade + 25
Damage: 1d12+16

Actually, a fullblade for a Colossal-sized creature would be... what, one size above Colossal? :)

Regardless, it would be upsided 4 categories from the regular size L fullblade (L -> H -> G -> C), and would do upsized damage: 2d8 -> 4d6 -> 4d8 -> 8d6. Or if this breaks the upsizing rules, start with a greatsword (2d6) and end up at 4d8. Don't forget also the iterative attacks for weapon attacks, which would be +24/+19/+14 with Weapon Focus.

I think that's right.

Mr. Toilet...eh...Telim Tor: The answer is of course and advanced great wyrm shadow dragon. (for this you need Monster's of Faerûn™ for the shadow dragon, and the ELH, for the complete rules of advancing dragons beyond great wyrm.) It's shadowy and thus hates light, but granting it hide bonuses, it's four legged, and any dragon of that size has legs as think as treetrunks, it's intelligent, a great wyrm shadowdragon has a whopping 32 in int, it's got a breathweapon (cone of shadows, drains levels, nastier than hades), it's smart enough to start a religion around it. (including giving itself a 'weakness' to gold, causing it's followers to sacrifice large amounts of the metal to serve two purposes, 1. increase it's own hoard. 2. increase the rarity of the metal in the emidate area... :D)

It's no small coincidence that the most powerfull of all dracoliches (according to Cult of the Dragon™) in the forgotten realms is a shadow dragon (Aurglorosa).

And if a Shadow Dragon doesn't cut it, I suggest you create the creature you need from scratch.
