Need a critique for my Fighter

Why the 17 in Dex? It really doesn't do you any good except for Reflex and Initiative and skills your armor will give you negatives to. As jbear said, put the 17 in Wis instead. Not only does it help your fighter powers, but it gives you boosts in the skills Perception and Insight.

The reflex defense will do more for you than the extra HP from Con. Plus the heavy blade kickers and feat prerequisites. The second 17 should go to Wis, but for a heavy-blade fighter I'd want Dex over Con (and your racial bonus keeps your con pretty high, anyway).

Having 4 good defenses will do more for you than a few HP, even after you take into the account a possible increase in your healing surge value.

Critique a warforged fighter?

Here goes: You're bald, you weigh too much, and all you do is get in the way of everything!!!

And a special thanks to Ghostbusters 2's Bill Murray everyone.

Just my initial take:

You are far better off having Bastard Sword Prof. than having Weapon Focus: Heavy Blade. The former is average of +3 damage when using a power that does 3W damage, while the latter is only +1 damage no matter how many weapon dice you are using. If you can upgrade this to be a jagged one later, so much the better.

Tide of Iron is not a bad power if you use a shield. But if you don't have it, you have almost no reason at all to use a shield- and may want to go Tempest or Great Weapon in that case.

Cleave- is weak. You are better off with Tide of Iron here. Footwork Lure is nice & Controler-y as well, and should make doing your job of defending easier.

I actually played a warforged fighter, and their stat bonuses are just right for a big axe or hammer wielding fighter. Brash Strike can give you striker-level damage and makes you a more attractive target, both good for a defender to do.

I took a slightly different approach and made a Tempest fighter, wielding an Urgosh. Both Two Weapon Rend and the fighting style feat that allows brash strike on combat challenge attacks meant that all of my extra fighter attacks were at +2 to hit and +3 damage. I felt it made me extra sticky.

If your character vision includes a big ass sword, I'd agree with Destil and keep Dex high, some of the heavy blade powers, and the best feat, reward a high dex. Not using a shield, you will appreciate those couple points to shore up your reflex as well. I would favor Reaping Strike over Cleave, since with Cleave you are kind of held to a condition. You might not always want to move your target around with Footwork Lure, so it will be beneficial to have an at will that you can use anytime and not screw things up.

Of course, switching if you can get a pretty good Dex and Wis you can qualify for HBO and take Sure Strike as your other at-will, meaning that your OA's now have your Wis bonus+2 to hit. Take feats/magic items to boost that and you are now a virtual brick wall that nobody can pass.

Sky is the limit with fighters, so it is really up to you what you want to play.
