Need help with a Wizard vs. Blind condition

As far as I can tell it was a side effect from failing a save on an instantaneous spell, sort of like a fireball with a blinding flash of holy light by description.

Would Break Enchantment work in this case I couldn't find anything in it about Blindness?
Break enchantment does affect even instantaneous effects, as long as they are enchantments, transmutations or curses, so it may work in this case. If the spell is one that specifically is immune to dispelling then break enchantment only works if the original spell is 5th lvl or less, but that doesn't apply here since spells can't specifically be immune to dispelling unless they have a duration (since for instantaneous spells the question of dispelling is irrelevant).

You don't need break enchantment, you need remove blindness. Remove blindness doesn't care about what caused the condition, it gets rid of it regardless (unless you've actually lost your eyeballs).

Remove blindness/deafness cures blindness or deafness (your choice), whether the effect is normal or magical in nature. The spell does not restore ears or eyes that have been lost, but it repairs them if they are damaged.

This is why my high level wizards always carry a potion of remove blindness. :)

Note that you can still can non-targeted (i.e. touch, ranged touch, personal and area spells) while blind.
