Need help with Gestalt character

How is it different?

Look at this example:

Ftr | Sor
Wiz | Rng
Wiz | Rng
Ftr | Sor

This character obviously has a +4 BAB, since every level has a good BAB (either fighter or ranger).

If you calculate it in your fashion, each side has a +3 BAB, so you would lose one BAB.

Another (somewhat silly) example:

Mnk|Sor
Clr|Sor
Rog|Sor

This character would get a +1 BAB from your method.

From my method (and from the fractional calculation), the character would get a +2 BAB, since the classes don't matter at all, only what type of progression they have. Therefore Mnk/Clr/Rog (the better progression on each level) is three levels of moderate progression and thus the BAB of a 3rd-level cleric, or +2.

I've been here long enough to learn to trust your math and methods...

Thanks! :D

This has been a great topic to read and has given me some really good insight into Gestalt. So far we have only played one game with my players Gestalt and that was with there stats messed up, we have since recalculated their stats and will be playing again in two weeks. I would like to post their stats and get some feedback on them if (especialy Thanee) has the time to look at them.

I will also post my game sessions experince when we play.

Also thank you all for the advice on this subjuct.
