Need help with internet addiction

Tinker Gnome

Adventurer
Heh, I think I need some help for things to do other than be on the net. I was mortified earlier when my internet started running slow justa while ago, luckily the problem seemed to go away when I restarted the computer. Now I am always mortified when something bad happens to my computer, but it is mainly because of the internet access on it.

Does anyone have any suggestions for things other than the net I can do? I cant drive, so nowhere I can really go, and I love to read, but even I can tire of that after a while. I am stuck trying to remember what I did before I got a computer and the net in my room, and I am hard-pressed to remember anything.

do you exercise?

if you don't excercise, I will post pictures of myself all over the internet until you go blind.

that should do it.

Don't worry - Civ IV comes out next week. If it's as good as some people think it will be, you won't need the internet for a while. :D

I'm with BG here. When I first got a computer and signed up for AOL (back in '96), I was constantly on the internet, from the time I came home from work to the time I dragged myself to bed. Finally, I bought myself a bike and made myself exercise. I wouldn't sign on to the computer until I'd ridden my bike for an hour after coming home. Then an hour & a half, then two hours. It got to the point where I got in a lot better shape, grew to enjoy going for long bike rides on my days off and I could go a full day without the internet without suffering withdrawals.

What kind of public transit system does your city have?

1. Turn off the computer.

2. Go to the really big Light in the corner of your room. You know, the big, flat one that's on a timer & dimmer so that it slowly turns on between 7-9 & turns off between 7-9 depending on the time of year. Might have a cloth cover over it.

3. I know its bright & scary, but go look through the glass covering.

4. You should see some wide open space. That's called the Outside World.

5. Find what look's like a closet door, but should be better construction.

6. Open it.

7. Take a walk for CRYIN' OUT LOUD!!!!!

Where do you live, Saskatchewan, Outer Mongolia, Troost & Prospect? Take a walk outside.

The weather is always nice inside.

You're from Madison.

Nice walks might soon require sled dogs & parkas, but you can still take them.

And weather IS NOT always nice if your AC goes out in the middle of a heat wave.

But, Madisonites NEVER have to worry about anything above 40 degrees do they. ;)

LOL, woops.

Anyways, I am considering taking a walk now that the weather is actually somewhat cooler where I live(I live in Texas, which is right next to the sun).

EDIT: Public Transit is getting one of your friends to pick you up where I live. It would take twenty minutes to get anywhere of note by walking, and I dont know how to ride a bike.

I find that my Gaming Addiction, TV Addiction, and Sexual Addiction all help to draw attention away from my Internet Addiction. You just need more addictions so you won't seem like such a one-trick pony.
