Need of an experienced planeswalker

I am working on a new campaign and have need for a cheap planeswalker type prestigue class.

The Prime material plane has been replaced by Sey-biel, a Sigil, City of Doors, type city. It is however much bigger. As such, it has four planes that intereact with it on a weekly basis. Each week that goes by is a year in the alternate plane. So as you can see, any one stuck on the plane when Sey-biel moves is in trouble. Thus my need for a cheap planeswalker.

The class should get easy access to the simple planes quickly then to outer planes later.

I am very inexperienced at any sort of planes traveler and thus turn to you all.

I added what I have done so far, which isn't much, in case any one wanted a good laugh. :D

Perhaps something so they can "find" gates in the Sigil land, perhaps by making knowledge local checks. That sort of fits the 2e planescape feel for gates and doors to anywhere that appear or disappear. Perhaps success only tells them where, when, and how to access a particular gate to get to the appropriate area.
 


I think the Gatecrasher prestige class in Manual of the Planes has the ability to track down planar portals and make them work.
 


How does this look?

	The Planes walker is one who has become intuned with Sey-biel and has thus is able to
 find planar rifts. These magicians can find a portal to any plane in exhistance and some
 that are in inexhistance, given enough time.

Prerequisites:
Skills: Knowledge: Sey-biel 8 ranks
	  Knowledge:The Planes 8 ranks
	  Knowledge: Aracna 5 Ranks
Special: Must be able to cast 3rd level arcane spells

	A planes walker may try to emulate the required key to opena portal once found. To do this a planeswalker makes a knowledge:arcana check. The DC's on the table below.

[b] Find Planar Door(in):[/b]
	A planeswalker may try to find a planar door into Sey-biel. The planeswalker makes a knowledge: The planes check. Consult the table below for DC's. The search takes a number of hours equal to the table below.

[/b]	This number is added to the characters arcane spell casting class. See DMG for adding arcane classes.

Planes of Planned Disruption: DC 20
Negative/Positive Energy Plane: DC 25
Inner Plane: DC 30
Outer Plane DC 35
Damned/Blessed God's Realm's: DC 40
Finding a way back into Sey-biel adds 5 to the dificulty class.

0: Six hours
1-5: Four hours
6-10: 2 hours
11-15: 1hour

Savroff, I think you're Planeswalker PrC does the job nicely. It's short sweet and to the point. Is the Door's Time chart used to determine how soon the gate becomes available? I.e. Succeed by '0' and the door opens in 6 hours?
I especially like that it's harder to return to Sey-biel. It makes getting hipped on a far removed plane a real danger. Nice work!
 

The hours are how long it finds to find the door. Thanks, I glad it seems balanced ish and works.
