Need rogue help

Wand of Grease - how is your UMD?

Type 1 bag of holding full of marbles (Arms and Equipment guide) - 25 marbles covers a 5 foot square and makes your opponent flat footed if they don't have at least 5 ranks in balance. Highly situational, but potentially useful.

Any summons could create an animal flanking partner.

There are ways to work around this, and you seem game to try, so as long as you are having fun, keep at it. However, I suspect that your DM's flanking nerf is going to end up turning your rogue into a glass cannon/poor melee character whose only real use is picking locks. That could become real boring real fast. Any chance he'd let you retrain into an archery build or something else that is functional but doesn't assault his sensibilities?

Good luck with this. And keep Patryn's "suicide and restart" option in mind if it just plain sucks too much......

Given that a sizeable portion of the MM is immune to sneak attacks, and there are items and spells that will make you immune, I shall throw in my yellow pointed wizard hat in with those that question your DM's competence.

Actual advice: Restart as a wizard. Don't take a single damage dealing spell. After all, if you're not dealing damage, you're not broken... right?

Well the problem with that is that he said I can't attack any character that a party member is base to base with so that would include a bow or magic spells.

I will also look into that animal cohort feat it could be a way of reducing that problem.

Also he is a new DM and is trying to be a good DM and live up to his dads great legacy.
Your DM is definitely mistreating you...so Sneak Attack your DM!

In a private conversation with him, lay out the restrictions placed on your PC and then ask him: "WWYDD?" (What would your Dad do?)

Odds are, if he thinks about it in those terms, he MIGHT just see how badly he has you bent over.

Using Wish to resurrect someone is well within the power of the spell and should not be subject to word twisting.

Any use of wish should.

But seriously, that sounds kind of limiting. If the DM wants to get the effects you listed, maybe you could ask to also change some feats? Becoming a ranged rogue would fit the curse well - no getting close to anyone involved.

No use of Wish should. It costs a bucketload of XP, and isn't even more powerful than Gate or Time Stop or Shapechange.

Regarding your question: your DM has committed a serious mistake. He took the old saying "everybody at the table is supposed to have fun", applied it to himself first and foremost, and forgot that his job is to make the game fun for you, too. Instead of ruminating about mechanical, in-game solutions, you should realize that this condition has been brought upon your character in an entirely emotional, out-of-game manner.

Your DM needs to learn the game better, so he knows how to appropriately challenge all of his players and PCs. He also needs to learn that one-shotting the BBEG can be exactly what the players love to happen once in a while - great fun for everybody but him. Poor him. Next time, his BBEG could just drop an Obscuring Mist and be fine, of course...

Arbitrary PC-nerfing is NOT the way to go about learning good DMing!

Well we play wish spells a little differently. They have to be ryming poems and the shorter they are the more likely they are to go wrong.

I also talked to the DM and he is going to start looking at other options because other party members are starting to slap the useless label on my rogue (go figure). However as of right now no change.

Oh gods i kneel before thee, and ask for thy mercy to this rogue who is ruthless...

Oh gods give him a second chance and turn him into something utterly useless...

Those douchebags don't know where to slap their labels. Judicious application to DM forehead would be more like it.
