Need some advice

Just started to play NWN again after a long hiatus. My character is a dwarven 9th level rogue/2nd level fighter and he's ready to level. I could prestige as an assassin but not a shadowdancer yet (never got the mobility feat yet). Is the shadowdancer ability to hide in plain sight worth it? Would I be better off 10/2 get mobility then get a shadowdancer level or 9/2/1 assassin?

Thanks

Hide in plain sight is a very useful ability, with it you can quickly detach from combat use the sneak button.. head back into combat and then your next attack provided you arent spotted denies your opponent their Dex bonus to thier AC's...meaning Sneak/Death Attack as applicable.. Of course sneak attack is a huge benefit against living foes, but against undead, constructs etc.. it has no use.

Hide in plain sight depending on your skill can also pretty mcuh be as good as an Invisibility on tap spell..except you wont show up to those spells that find invisible folks..meaning you can be REALLY undetectable.

So if I level as an assassin then add shadowdancer next level. 9/2/1/1 rogue/fighter/assassin/shadowdancer would I get a experience penalty? Or would I just have to keep my 2 prestige classes within one of each other?

Also, Prestige Classes, as in PnP, don't count towards XP penalties.

And HiPS is nifty. Half my characters end up with it, one way or the other. Guess I'm just a sneak. Had fun once on PoA having an in-depth talk with (Chaz, I think?) while HiPS. He could see my char, but a low-level new player hanging about thought Chaz had lost his mind, talking to empty space. :)
